the maddest of crowds
Money is a shared delusion that some people should be more powerful than others, a mildly insane way to digitize exactly how much power you lack.
Lately I've started using "influence" and "influential" instead of the P word, however.
I've noticed the word "power" seems to have a weird power over some people. The influence of money, and the influence of people who somehow accumulate money, seems consistent with the P word and with our common saying, "Money talks."
