The odd thing about learning

From the perspective of our brain, learning and doing are just two different verbs that refer to the same mental process.
I like that. It's from Jonah Lehrer's article in Seed on how high school algebra should be taught. I really enjoyed reading it. The victims of math education as we know it [are you reading here Ms. Marcotte?] would want to see it implemented...but they are not the readers attracted to the article. As a nerd who always enjoyed math, I read it but would not have benefited much if it had been the way math was taught when I went to high school.
