the geometry of liberal groupings.

The larger the circle of inclusion is drawn, the less visible the heart of the inclusiveness is to the outsider and the and the longer and more confusing the perimeter that outsiders must patrol.

The tiny circle is for insders to keep others out. The large circle is for outsiders to keep themselves from getting in.
